From F.M. Truitt's death notice in the Sedalia Democrat:
"On the morning of May 27, 1939, Mr. Truitt was injured when his engine, then also on train No. 5, west bound, turned over near Rhineland, Mo., not far from Mokane. Mr Truitt was badly scalded, and his fireman, richard Snell of New Franklin, Mo., who met his death in today's accident, suffered severe haed injuries. the two men were taken to St. Mary's hospital, in Jefferson City and both were there for many weeks."

Mary, I believe you have a photo of F.M. convalescing after this accident.

I also have the full railroad investigation of this accident if anyone is interested I could send a copy. This 1939 report mentions F.M. by name, unlike the 1941 report which has no names.

I think I have a full set of the photos as well of the article...unfortunately cannot post here because Ed has never set the board up to allow images outside of his personal system...

Right Ed?

Don't think the board has upload capability yet -- how big are they? If you could send them to me, I should be able to put them in the photo gallery...
