Next week, "American Idol" returns to our TV screens, as Randy, Paula, and Simon search for the Next Big Thing.
Who will be the next Willie Hung? How many times will Ryan and the Trio overuse this season's version of the "Houston, you have a problem" cliche? Will Chris Moneymaker awaken from his WSOP hangover nap and try out? Will someone throw another cup of water in Simon's face? Will we have more baseless allegations of racial discrimination by outside celebrities? Will Ashlee Simpson be the featured guest judge on the "lip-synching screeching banshee style" competition?
Tune in, and find out.

Oh, last night wasn't so bad... A lot of it was really hilarious -- especially where Simon told that girl that "God spoke to him, and told him she wasn't going to win." That was an interesting debate.

Last night was a hoot... especially that dude who did everything BUT sing!
Nice thing is, there are some really decent singers this time, so the later stages should be interesting.

Well, the guys did their thing last night. The last one, and also the reggae-haired guy, were the best IMHO. I am certainly more impressed with the vocal quality this year than in earlier years, it will be interesting to hear the gals tonight.

I was a little disappointed last night. It seemed to me that the guys did better in the earlier rounds of competition than last night. Could it be nerves are setting in finally?

Possibly. A few of the girls were showing signs of Extreme Nervousness.
However, there were 4 of them whose performances were definitely at a higher level. It will be interesting to see who gets dropped tonight.

Murphy's Law seems to have struck American Idol last night, as the final segment (where you are given a head shot of the contestants, and the phone number to call to vote for them) had several glitches, and the wrong phone numbers were displayed for 2 or 3 of the contestants?
I hope part of tonight's show includes a "which technician/producer do you want to vote OFF the show" segment.
BTW, the second and last contestants were awesome, and I agree with Simon -- Bo looks like he is giving performances, instead of competing.

The votes would be messed up and thus they should have a re-vote.

Yep, they made the right decision -- but it is rather humorous, nonetheless. Maybe we can also vote as to whether Simon or Randy looks better with their shirt off

The rehash of Tuesday's show that they put on the air last night was IMHO pretty much a complete waste of time. I would have appreciated some new content, other than just asking RP&S whether they agreed with themselves or not. I do hope they don't ever screw up this way again.
