A picture I took on Tuesday AM of the new building where I will be working. Taken from the Bell St MetrolRail station.

Enron South. 1400Smith was the main Enron HQ bldg (Enron North). ChevronTexaco bought it (1500 Louisiana) early this year.

I'm sorta ambivalent about it myself. Sometimes, I wish they would get the move over with so I could get on with life, other times I wish they hadn't bought the place. I am now one of the move coordinators, which is a good thing I guess.

LOLOL Move Coordinator? Well, I think that is just another term for "Person to Blame if Things Go Wrong"

Definitely, you'll be blamed if the new offices are not to people's liking

Offices? OFFICES?!? We don't NEED no steenking offices!
Actually, the standard is 8'x8' "open workspaces". IIRC, international law says that prisoners are entitled to 8'x10' (though I reserve the right to be wrong.) At first, we were doing it to save lots of $$$$MONEY$$$$$, then it was to "create communities". When in doubt, go with the first choice.
And, interestingly enough, the floor plans for the building look like a sardine tin.

Perhaps something fishy is going on?
[the sound you hear is a loud groan coming from all over the area]

Actually, the person who is move champion for the whole business unit asked for me. Right now, I can probably use all the help I can get. After all, when your performance ranking is "does NOT meet expectations", and the answer to "what can I do to improve this for next year?" is "nothing" (I kid you not!)...

Yeah, they're about to move me into a unit under a supervisor who does not like me (there are 3 possibles but none of the are good ones!) so I will know soon enough what that feels like.
